New Music

I did the regular cd run on tuesday and came home with four cd's. I was looking for the Ultra Nate cd but could not find it so I bought another one to replace it.
*Lost Highway by Bon Jovi
The country rock hybrid is nothing new in the industry. They are very similar in nature and seem to make a great fit. Bon Jovi released a new cd and it definitely leans to the more country side of rock. The better songs on the album seem to be the slower songs. The group seems to hit trouble when they do the heavy songs on the album and it was surprising. Jon does a great job with vocals and sounds amazing. This album is very similar to the last album they put out but with more of a country fiddle here and there.
Standout songs-Make a Memory, Everybody's Broken and Till We Aint Strangers Anymore.
*5th Gear-Brad Paisley
Man...Brad is easy on the eyes. Sorry..i was distracted for a moment. Besides his rugged and handsome features....Brad is a great writer. He mixes everyday situations with humor and great hooks. Although he seems to become too self aware on songs like "online" but makes up for it with the dirty but funny "ticks".
Standout songs-Ticks, Letter to Me and I'm Still a Guy
Wild Hope-Mandy More
I almost didnt pick up this cd. I drew a breath and decided to be daring. It turns out I made a good choice. The album is not perfect but it aint too bad. Mandy has stepped up her game and abandoned the pop sugarness of her past and embraced a more introspective style. She has some great collaborators on board as well. The album suffers when the lyrics dont seem to have much of a punch in certain songs. Overall...not a bad first step into a new area.
Standout songs-All good things, Looking forward to looking back and Gardenia
Thrivemix Presents: Dance Anthems
Not much to say about this disc other than it rocks. Two discs of dance hits to get you jumping on the dancefloor or at home. Pick it up.
Standout songs-Everything!
